I awoke in a cold sweat, crippled by my thoughts, just another night inside my head
Can I learn to bear the weight of my mortality
I thought that I was strong but even mountains erode when met with a mighty wind
When will sleep come, another night spent waiting to see the sun
Another day where I go through the motions, not even knowing where I am
I pray for a quite mind, when I can hear the earth breathe
Just a moment where I’m void of emotion, a fleeting serenity
A brief reprieve
I pray for silence, when I can hear myself think, but I am always around
